A Day in the Life: Keeping Colorado Homes Warm with Staab & Sons

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine

The day begins early when you’re in the heating business. As I sip my morning coffee, I review the day’s service schedule and check the weather forecast. Today’s looking busy with three furnace installations across town.

7:00 AM – Morning Brief

At Staab & Sons, Inc., we start each day with a team meeting. We discuss:
• Safety protocols for the day
• Equipment requirements
• Customer specifications
• Special considerations for each job

8:30 AM – First Installation

The morning’s first job involves replacing an aging furnace system. We carefully remove the old unit and prepare the space for the new installation. Precision is everything in this business – one incorrect measurement can affect the entire system’s efficiency.

12:00 PM – Lunch Break

A quick lunch in the service truck while reviewing the afternoon’s workload. Winter months are our busiest, and today’s no exception.

1:00 PM – Afternoon Service

The second half of the day focuses on heater installation in a newly constructed home. Working with new construction is different from replacements – everything needs to be perfectly coordinated with other contractors.

4:30 PM – Final Tasks

Before heading back to base, I complete all necessary paperwork and ensure our quality control checks are documented. At Staab & Sons, Inc., we pride ourselves on thorough documentation and follow-up.

5:30 PM – Day’s End

Back at the shop, we clean and organize our tools, restock the truck for tomorrow, and brief the overnight emergency team about any potential follow-ups.

Working in heating installation and replacement isn’t just about mechanical know-how – it’s about ensuring families stay warm and comfortable throughout Colorado’s cold seasons. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our community, which makes this career truly rewarding.
