Morning Preparations
Every day begins before sunrise as I check my service schedule and diagnostic equipment in my service vehicle. Working at Barnett Heating & Cooling means being prepared for anything – from emergency AC repairs during summer heat waves to heating system maintenance in the coldest months.
First Calls of the Day
By 8 AM, I’m typically at my first appointment. Today starts with a routine maintenance check on a residential HVAC system. These preventive services are crucial for:
• Extending system lifespan
• Improving energy efficiency
• Preventing unexpected breakdowns
• Ensuring optimal indoor air quality
Midday Emergency Calls
Around noon, our dispatch receives an urgent call about a malfunctioning air conditioner. This is when our training really comes into play. Every minute counts when someone’s comfort system isn’t working, especially for households with elderly residents or young children.
Afternoon Education
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is educating homeowners about their HVAC systems. I take time to explain:
• Proper maintenance practices
• Energy-saving tips
• Warning signs to watch for
• Filter replacement schedules
End of Day
Before heading home, I ensure all paperwork is complete and my truck is restocked for tomorrow. This attention to detail helps maintain the high standard of service our customers expect from Barnett Heating & Cooling.
Working in HVAC service means no two days are exactly alike, but helping people stay comfortable in their homes makes every day worthwhile.
